Ghost, who are out and about in support of their brand new album “Skeleta'”, have made it clear…let me rephrase that… Tobias Forge, the ringmaster of Ghost has made it clear that if you plan on attending a Ghost show, that no devices that can record any part of the show will not be allowed. Forge recently discussed the tour’s phone-free policy, calling it an “experiment” aimed at fostering a more connected concert experience. So, just giving you heads up… if you plan on going to the show at the Allstate Arena on Friday, August 1st, don’t plan on taking pics or recording any part of the show. That is, unless your sneaky, like a fan was in Norway last Saturday, who posted footage of Ghost performing “Square Hammer” as they concluded the European leg of their tour.
Slipknot guitarist Jim Root has been going back and forth on new Slipknot material. A couple weeks back, he stated that new material wasn’t in the works, but now all of a sudden, he revealed that he has a fresh inspiration for the band’s upcoming eighth album, with six new song ideas in development. While fans may still face a wait for new music, Root also hinted at a possible 25th anniversary reissue of their self-titled debut.
And finally, Ice Nine Kills joked off accusations of using AI to create a Memorial Day promo image featuring horror icons Freddy Krueger and Jason from Friday The 13th. After fans noted odd details in the image they used, the band issued a sarcastic statement promising to investigate the “horrific crime against Redditors”—alongside another seemingly AI-generated picture of themselves with exaggerated muscles. Personally I feel that if you have an issue with a band using AI to generate a comical picture to promote your band, you need to move out of your Mama’s basement and get a life!
