Pop Evil have surprised fans with a stripped-down, emotional cover of Simple Minds’ iconic ’80s hit “Don’t You (Forget About Me),” that you can check out over at 95 WIIL Rock.com, that was recorded live during a SiriusXM Octane event in NYC. Marking their first commercially released cover, the track will appear on their upcoming acoustic EP Unleaded, which include the cover and three other acoustic tunes.
The Foo Fighters have parted ways with drummer Josh Freese, two years after he stepped in following the death of Taylor Hawkins. Freese announced the news on Instagram, saying the band has chosen to “go in a different direction.” While expressing shock and disappointment, he voiced support for their decision. The band has been inactive since August 2024, and no replacement has been named. Their next scheduled performance is at the Singapore Grand Prix in October.
And finally, Dave Navarro has confirmed that Jane’s Addiction will never perform together again following a disastrous 2024 concert in Boston. During the show, frontman Perry Farrell allegedly assaulted Navarro on stage, abruptly ending both the performance and the band’s tour. Navarro called it “the worst gig” of his career, stating the incident shattered the group and any hopes of future shows. Despite some positive moments earlier in the tour, Navarro said the Boston meltdown marked the definitive end of the band’s touring life.
