Slayer guitarist Kerry King made a surprise appearance at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, playing Damian Priest to the ring with the blistering track “Rise For The Night” amid flames and fog. Priest, a longtime metal fan, called music a key part of his identity. King will reunite with Slayer for select shows this year, including a UK run with metal heavyweights and Black Sabbath’s farewell concert in July.
Trapt singer Chris Taylor Brown revealed that four venues have canceled shows due to “cancel culture,” with the most recent incident occurring in Pittsburgh. Despite the setbacks, the band managed to find an alternate venue, set up their own stage, and provide drinks for the audience to put on a successful gig. Brown acknowledged past controversial comments but emphasized that the majority of venues have not caved to cancel culture, allowing the band to continue their tour. Trapt faced backlash in 2020 for various social media controversies, but they are currently focused on their acoustic tour, with upcoming shows scheduled through June.
And finally, Mötley Crüe has withdrawn from the 2025 Boardwalk Rock Festival as frontman Vince Neil recovers from a recent medical procedure. The band had already postponed their spring Las Vegas residency to September and October. Alice in Chains will fill their festival slot. Fans and bandmates have expressed support for Neil’s recovery.
