DISTURBED drummer Mike Wengren has denied reports that the band’s pyrotechnics caused damage to the Chicago Bulls’ NBA championship banners. Speaking in an interview before their show in Montreal a few days back, Wengren dismissed the claims as false, attributing the rumor to a stagehand running his mouth to something he heard, and emphasized that the pyro is carefully tested and monitored by fire marshals.
Metallica’s Kirk Hammett revealed in a recent interview that he has 767 new riffs ready for the band’s next album, but work won’t begin for another year due to their ongoing 72 Seasons tour. He hinted at a return to the sound of the ’90s albums Load and Reload.
And finally, Primus bassist Les Claypool is selling his 1998 Prevost Marathon XL tour bus, “Large Marge,” on eBay for $152,000. The 45-foot bus, with 300,000 miles, features wood floors, twin sofas, smart TVs, and a regal interior. Primus will join A Perfect Circle and Puscifer on the Sessanta tour starting April 24th, with them making a stop in Milwaukee at the American Family Insurance Amphitheatre on Saturday, May 31st.
