Members of R.E.M., Screaming Trees, and the Black Crowes have joined forces to form a new supergroup called Silverlites. The lineup features R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck, Black Crowes guitarist Rich Robinson, and drummer Barret Martin, alongside frontman Joseph Arthur. The project, which began in 2019, recorded its music in 2021 during the pandemic. Their debut single, “Don’t Go, Don’t Stay,” is now available on digital platforms, with the self-titled album set for release on November 15th.
Former Mr. Bungle member Theo Lengyel, 55, has been convicted of first-degree murder following the discovery of new audio evidence. Lengyel was linked to the December 2023 disappearance of his girlfriend, Alice “Alyx” Kamakaokalani Hermann, and was arrested after her remains were found in Tilden Regional Park, Berkeley, California. He had been uncooperative with police during the investigation.
